The youngster from Oakland has definitely restructured & reinvented his form from
their early days. Scary thing is, Sage (21) has yet to even reach anything close to his
peak. Sage has taken off into a recording frenzy the last year putting down
concentrated and forceful flows over his blazing beats and furious sequences.
Sage has begun producing tracks for the likes of others and is even said to be
producing a large part of Ruger’s, member of the EMC Boyz, sophomore album. He’
s also diversified his skills by altering and expanding his musical flavors to include
sophisticated arrangements instead of allowing samples and loops to control the
track. This is evident in songs like “7:25”, “I’m Widdit”, & “Free Ur Soul” all smooth,
ready-for-radio tracks that offer a different feel than the usual norm you hear on
radio and TV. However, he also returns back to his roots where his underground,
hyphy, tracks shine as much as his new styles catch the interest of fans, music and
radio directors. With his dreadlocks shaking, the hyper artist always gets the crowd
bouncin’ and rockin’. Sage had brief stints outside of the bay and the state of Cali.
Moving around to different places, the one thing that remained constant was music
and his dream of making something with it. Once Sage returned to the Bay, he
reunited with Ben Dillon (aka @Large), who had also been keeping himself busy
making music with his Triton Workstation. Sometime after that, they found
themselves with the same recording capabilities that many others had in their own
home studios. With the final piece of the puzzle in place, the two never stopped look
back. With the tools, ambition, and personal inspiration, Sage is now ready to take
a big step into music and a giant leap into the entertainment industry.
